Domenech’s lawyer told L’Equipe that his client was made “a scapegoat” for the World Cup results, in which France fell at the first hurdle having failed to win a game.
The French Football Federation had sacked Domenech from his role with them in September, citing three errors, being a failure to shake the hand of South Africa coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, the training boycott and the expulsion of Nicolas Anelka.
