Edu targets Champions League action

The 23-year-old is recovering from a knee injury, but is hoping to be fit for the start of the Champions League in September.

“I have been looking forward to playing in the Champions League since I was a little boy so I want to grasp that opportunity,” he conceded.

“The Champions League is huge, that was one of my goals when I signed here and I thought that Rangers were the right club to do that with.

“The fact that it has happened so soon is great and I’m looking forward to it.

“Hopefully when the Champions League comes around I will be in my stride.”

He added: “Things are going pretty good at the moment and I’m progressing the way I should be progressing.

“It is still going to take a bit of time and I don’t want to set a date.

“I want to come back 100 per cent and not 90 per cent fit.”
