The 30-year-old has been struggling with an ankle injury that he suffered during training.
“Alex is doing well. The swelling has decreased,” Switzerland team doctor Cuno Wetzel told blick.ch.
“The ankle is very blue, of course, that’s normal for a bruise. Everything runs as expected.”
