Kewell has failed to recover from a hamstring injury and has been ruled out of the clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The 33-year-old sustained the hamstring problem in Australia’s 1-0 World Cup qualifying loss to Oman last weekend.
Kewell is expected to return for Melbourne Victory’s clash with Gold Coast on November 27.
