Becks played the final 18 minutes of LA Galaxy’s 1-0 defeat to DC United.
He said: “The ankle felt a lot better tonight than it has for a while.
“It’s difficult not doing much for eight weeks and there’s going to be a certain amount of reaction from it tomorrow. But it’s a big forward step for me tonight
“I was happy to be back on the field but disappointed with losing.
“We have to look forward to the next game and work hard.”
