Lagerback keen on Scotland role

The Scottish FA are searching for a new coach for the national team, following their sacking of George Burley on Monday.

Lagerback quit his role with Sweden last month after failing to get them to the World Cup.

“Yes, the job interests me. I said when I finished with Sweden if an interesting challenge came along I would be happy to listen,” Lagerback told the Daily Record.

“I have not been in touch with anyone at the SFA but am open to speak with them.

“Sweden, like Scotland, doesn’t have a huge population but in football terms we’ve made the best of what we have.

“That of course has to be the key for a nation like Scotland too.”
