Lambert said on the club’s official website: “The first Saturday we came here I knew how big a club it was, with a fantastic fanbase and excellent stadium and facilities.
“It’s a big club and there is no way we should be where we are, not with everything we have going for us behind the scenes, we want to get promoted but we certainly understand there are going to be some challenges if that is going to be become a reality.
“I will be watching the game tonight and then work starts in earnest as we prepare for Wycombe, I will be meeting with players and staff over the next couple of days, I can’t wait to get started.”
