The 32-year-old’s current contract with Aberdeen is set to expire at the end of the season.
Langfield’s agent, Blair Morgan, said: “Jamie is 100 per cent fit and while his preference is to stay with Aberdeen he also wants to be playing football.”
Dons boss Craig Brown said: “It is up to Jamie to force his way into the team. He knows we rate him highly.”
