The 37-year-old said in February that he planned to retire at the end of the season.
“I have decided not to retire and to continue giving my help next season,” Makelele told Canal Plus.
“I am relieved because I believe in this club. The objective is very interesting: retrieve an important place in France.
“I share the ambitions of the coach and the club.”
