Martinez says he is willing to allow unhappy players to leave the club.
Scharner said in May that he wanted to leave Wigan in search for European football.
“I am planning to speak to everyone, but I don’t think it is the right time yet because it is vital that the players have a proper break,” he told the Wigan Evening Post.
“You are never going to stop media speculation and other clubs talking about our players – that is part and parcel of the game.
“But I will make sure I speak to every one of the players and reassess everyone’s goals.
“I want to keep hold of everyone – that is clear – but on the other hand you don’t want to have any players around who feel their time at the club is up.
“If it is right for Wigan, we’re not going to stop anyone leaving.
“We only want players who are desperate to play for us and want to win games on a consistent basis.”
