Rangers are are the top of the Scottish Premier League table ahead of the festive period.
“We wanted to make amends for last season when we started well and then really flopped a bit after a positive beginning,” said McCulloch.
“This season, with a different formation, I think we have done really well to achieve what we have done in the competition.
“We’re just happy to have got third and hopefully the draw will be kind to us now and we can put a bit of a run together after Christmas.
“You have to take it one match at a time, and if you want to do well in all competitions you need a bit of luck with injury and suspension.
“At the moment I don’t see any reason why we can’t do well in both the European games and the domestic matches.”
