Scotland boss pleased with draw

Scotland was drawn with Spain, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Liechtenstein in Group I on Sunday.

“I am excited first and foremost, particularly with Spain coming out of the hat as top seeds and I am sure the Scottish fans will be looking forward to them coming to Hampden and perhaps having a little holiday across in Spain,” Levein told Sky Sports News.

“I think it is no secret that Spain will be favourites to win the group if they play to form.

“We are in a five-team group which may be easier to get second place but we need to gain some momentum from now to the start of the qualifiers, and we have a couple of friendlies to do that and, if we can, we have a few good players and are more than capable of causing every team in the group problems.

“We will do as much research as possible before the qualifying games.

“We are going to work very hard in next seven or eight months to learn as much about our opposition ahead of the Euros.”
