Giampaolo was given the backing of club patron Giovanni Lombardi earlier this week.
“I thank the president for his kind words,” Giampaolo declared to CorrieredelloSport.
“However, at this moment in time it is premature to start talking about contract extensions and the like. We must get our priorities in order and I want to focus solely on the performance of the squad and its day to day improvement.
“We are in good shape, and the recent break has given us a chance to clear our heads. The players are fired up and aware of the importance of the away trip to Parma.
“The Gialloblu often change their tactics and this makes it hard to pick up certain men at times. However, we are ready to take them on head to head in the knowledge that we still have great room for improvement.”
