Simplicio handed contract offer

The 29-year-old impressed for Palermo last season and has been linked with several clubs.

“Palermo are always very consistent when it comes to renewals,” the club’s director of sport, Walter Sabatini, said.

“Simplicio has been made an offer we consider to be fair and correct, and we stop there.

“We know what the player’s value is and we want to keep him but only on the conditions we consider to be correct.”

He added to Mediagol.it: “We don’t know anything about the interest of which you speak also because these clubs should first speak with us about buying the player.

“Nothing has arrived on my desk and I don’t think Gilmar Rinaldi, the player’s agent, has heard anything either.

“It’s probable that the player interests a lot of clubs, but since these clubs have yet to come forward, for now, we can say Simplicio is above all interested in Palermo.”
