Sneijder delighted with win over Uruguay

Holland managed to beat Uruguay 3-2 in the semi-final of the World Cup in South Africa.

“This is simply incredible. It was a very tough battle, but I’m delighted that we’ve made it. We got a bit sloppy towards the end of the match and Uruguay came quite close in the dying seconds,” said Sneijder to NOS.

“However, the most important thing is that we won the match. It’s all about winning your matches and nobody cares how we did it. It has yet to sink in that we’ve made it to the final.

“I’ve had a lot of success at club level this past year, but playing in a final is always extremely exciting. The Champions League final is the biggest thing on club level, but the World Cup final beats everything.

“We’re so close to winning the tournament now. We will take our time to enjoy the moment for now before we shift our focus to the final again.”
