Delap was rightly sent off for a vicious lunge during the game but Stoke are set to continue their run of failed red card appeals.
“After studying television replays of the incident, City have now notified the Football Association that they will be appealing against the dismissal,” a statement on the club’s official website read.
“The club now have 24 hours to present their evidence to the FA in the hope that the midfielder’s three-match suspension will be overturned.”
