West Brom ace targets Scotland role

The 22-year-old has impressed for the Baggies this season.

“Scotland has a strong midfield already with the likes of Darren Fletcher and Scott Brown,” Dorrans told the Daily Record.

“Darren is among the best in Europe now and has done it all at Man Utd so he’s the type I want to be playing alongside.”

He continued: “If Barry (Ferguson) makes himself available it’ll be even tougher for me to get into the team. But I want the best players available to Scotland to be playing for their country.

“I really hope he decides to come back and play for his country – Craig needs all the best players available for these big games and Barry’s certainly one of them.

“Hopefully along the way I can get involved and play beside them in midfield.”

Scotland were put in the same Euro 2012 qualification group as Spain, Czech Republic, Lithuania and Liechtenstein.

“I watched the Euro draw and it’s brilliant to think about the prospect of going up against a country like Spain,” he said.

“I was involved in the squad before we played Holland at Hampden and although we lost, the buzz around the camp and the atmosphere on the night were amazing.

“Those are the kind of games I want to be part of so hopefully I will get in the team.”
