The 20-year-old will join Wolves in a deal worth £150,000 and sign a two-and-a-half year contract with the Premier League side.
“Look, with the greatest respect to Leigh, I don’t want anyone thinking we are signing a Premier League striker that is going to come in and rip it up at the moment because that is not the case,” explained Wolves boss Mick McCarthy.
“What we shouldn’t take our eye off, is what we have always done, and that is sign players who we think might be valuable to us and be a bargain.
“We’ve done it in the past, the Wards, Foleys, Edwards, Kightlys, you can name lots and lots of them we have done shrewd deals for and they have been good and smart deals.
“Of course it’s a big step up for Leigh but he’s got a terrific goalscoring record.”
