Board members claim that over 400,000 Euros has been ‘stolen’ from the club and another 500,000 Euros were set to be embezzled.
“Mr Panteli is in police custody and will appear in court today where police will request a period of eight days in custody pending further investigations,” a police spokesperson told Reuters.
The 48-year-old President said in a statement: “There were never any financial discrepancies.
“Any actions were taken in the full awareness of the board of directors and were always done with the best interests of the club at heart.”
