The Magpies are keen for the 27-year-old to return to St James’ Park, according to The Sun.
Jenas has falled behing Wilson Palacios and Tom Huddlestone in the pecking order at White Hart Lane and will be allowed to leave this summer.
Jenas joined Spurs in a £7million deal from Newcastle in 2005.
