Clark has just 12 months left on his current contract, with the club that he joined in December 2008.
He told the Huddersfield Examiner: “As far as my contract situation is concerned, talks have progressed very well.
“Hopefully we’ll be able to finalise things tomorrow.”
Clark has managed to guide Huddersfield to the play-offs in each of the last two seasons.
“Football is one of the most results-driven businesses around, it’s vital that we win promotion, and nobody is more determined to do it than me,” he added.
“While we certainly haven’t achieved what we want to, I believe the club has made huge strides in the last few years, and I want to stay around and continue that progression.”
