The new deal will keep Ward at the Molineux until the summer of 2015. Ward’s previous deal was set to expire in 2013.
“We’re all delighted that Wardy has extended his contract,” Mick McCarthy told the club’s official website. “He has earned a new deal by the manner of his performances.
“Since arriving from Bohemians, he has just got better and better and is a top professional who never stops working.”
Ward, 26, added: “I’m happy to have signed the new contract and am looking forward to helping Wolves move up the Premier League table.”
