McCarthy is desperate to add to his 24-man squad, in a move to ‘freshen it up’.
McCarthy said: “We’ll be looking to do something in January, definitely. If we can get anybody, it would be important to freshen the squad up.
“If we can get someone who will improve us a squad or a team, then we will try and do some business.”
