Golan told The Sun: “It’s a big honour for me, as it’s my first goal for the national team in an official match.
“I am very happy first of all for my country and our fans. But if I made the fans of England happy, it’s worth it.
“I am starting to realise how much my goal meant for England.
“I have always loved English football and, of course, want them to go to Euro 2008 ahead of Russia. They are a better team.”
