The 27-year-old joined the Latics on a free transfer from Newcastle in 2007 and has just a season left on his current contract.
Bramble told the Wigan Evening Post: “I have the rest of this season and next season left on my contract.
“I think something will get sorted out soon, my agent is due to speak to the club in the next week or so about a new deal.
“I’d love to stay here, the fans have been great to me and I’m really settled.
“What is important is that I’m playing week in, week out – that is what every player wants and I’m no different.
“I’ve played 60 games for Wigan in the last two seasons which is great. They’ve given me a chance and I’m grateful for that.
“We’ve got a good squad and I’m sure the manager will make some good signings in the summer to strengthen us further.”
