Capello has been under-fire since England’s poor performances in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Cannavaro told TalkSport: “I think Fabio Capello is the best coach in the world. He was with me in Italy and in Spain. I hope he will win the European Championship.
“England have a good team, it will be a good opportunity for them to play in the European Championship and I think maybe they’ve got an opportunity to win it.”
