Cech: We must make Stamford Bridge a fortress again

The Blues have not won at Stamford Bridge since November 1.

Cech admitted: “It’s very hard to explain. But in more than four years of being in those situations where we were a goal down or pegged back, we always came back.

“There were times when it looked like we could play for four days and never score, but somehow we always managed to get the right result.

“Other times we played with two defenders because we wanted to win the game and not draw.

“But at the moment we’re not taking our chances.

“That’s something we can see is the difference between our home form and the way we’re playing away from Stamford Bridge.”

Cech added: “When we play away we are really efficient.

“Usually the first chance we get goes in and that makes everything easier for us.

“We’ve not had the luck this season at home to score the quick goal and start from there.

“Against West Ham we went behind and so to get a draw and put them under the pressure we did was a good reaction from us.

“We fought hard and stayed patient and scored the goal to get it back to 1-1.

“They were under a lot of pressure but we couldn’t get the second goal.

“Of course, we need to get our home form back again.

“When you win three points away from home it is good.

“But you need to make the most of it by winning the next home game as well and we’ve not been doing that recently.”
