Cherundolo set to sign new Hannover deal

The 31-year-old has agreed to a new two-year deal with the side he joined in 1999.

“I am delighted to have agreed, still I have not signed the papers yet, but my word almost counts like a signature, of course,” he told Neue Presse.

“I am really happy as it was a decision in favour of Hanover and not against the other clubs.

“There were definitely some options around, but Hannover 96 wanted me and I wanted Hannover 96.

“It is always the best to see a club and a player develop together.

“This is so true, I cannot say it in any diffent words: I love the club, the city of Hanover and I am looking forward to these next years ahead.”
