Blanco scored 34 goals for Mexico since he made his debut in 1995.
“It was a personal decision. I think it’s the correct moment to retire. I have the love of the fans always with me,” said Blanco.
“The most important thing for me was to reach this moment. I took this decision and I will not to change it.
“I will remember all everything. The World Cups, the injuries. But it would be great to have one more game at Azteca.
“If I can achieve that, I will leave the national team full of happiness.”
