The new four-year deal will keep the striker at Wolves until the summer of 2015.
“It’s great news that Kevin has signed the new contract and his future is now secured for another four years,” said boss Mick McCarthy.
“He has been a key player for us in maintaining our Premier League status over the last two seasons when he has made a major contribution.
“From day one when he arrived he settled at the club and has been the consummate professional in the way he plays and also conducts himself off the pitch.
“He remains a big part of what we are trying to achieve here, and we are delighted that he has agreed to extend his stay.”
“We always had Kevin on our radar for a new contract. It was just a matter of getting the timing right and as he has less than two years remaining on his current deal, it was time to address it. Kevin was delighted to commit to Wolves for a further four years,” says CEO Jez Moxey.
“As I always say, contract management of our players forms a big part of our overall strategy and we all know the massive contribution Kevin has made to the Club in the last two years.
“He is one of those players who is a real credit to his profession not only with his performances on the pitch but his attitude to his job and his commitment to the Club and our objectives.
“He may have arrived as our record signing as we prepared for our first season back in the Barclays Premier League in 2009, but he has proved to be invaluable and we are all delighted he has agreed to sign a new and extended contract.”
