Kanu considering Portsmouth offer

Kanu’s legal representative Samuel Okoronkwo says the striker is considering the offer from the Championship side.

“The administrator [Andrew Andrinikou] has offered Kanu a new contract which we are in receipt of and negotiating,” Okoronkwo told Portsmouth Today.

“He’s played at the highest level, but he’s open-minded about playing in a lower division.”

The Portsmouth administrator, Andrinikou, has revealed that the club is considering capping wages at £10,000-a-week.

“Money has never driven Kanu. It’s the love of the game,” said Okoronkwo.

“We understand what the administrator is trying to achieve and Kanu is supportive.

“If we can reach an agreement with the administrator he’d be willing to stay on.”
