Portsmouth, Lincoln City and Charlton Athletic have received a fresh transfer signal after Tyrese Shade was left out of Burton Albion’s squad for the third consecutive game.

The attacker missed Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Leicester City as questions over his future intensified.

The News reports that both Championship clubs are tracking the versatile 26-year-old. Lincoln City have also seen multiple offers worth around £2m rejected, but Burton are increasingly expected to sanction a sale before the September 1 deadline.

Shade has not featured since interest from the second tier emerged earlier this month. He previously sat out matches against Blackburn Rovers and Stevenage.

Portsmouth’s search has gained urgency following Thomas Waddingham’s early-season injury. Shade can operate across the forward line and scored 14 times during his first campaign with Burton.

The St Kitts and Nevis international has entered the final year of his contract. Brewers boss Gary Bowyer has already admitted he does not expect the forward to remain once the window closes.
