Kitson scored Stoke’s first goal in the 3-1 victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
Kitson has been out-of-favour this season, but Pulis insists the £5.5million signing from Reading is still a part of his plans.
“I’m just pleased for Dave because he’s had a very up and down career here,” Pulis told the Stoke Sentinel.
“I had a chat with him a couple of weeks ago after nobody came in for him on deadline day.
“I just told him to get his head down and work hard, because he was still in my thoughts.”
