The People reports that Nike is keen to seal a five-year deal with the Magpies in time for Christmas.
Several other US companies have expressed an interest as well since the club announced that they would sell the naming rights to their stadium.
The likes of O2 and Virgin Money have also been reported to be interest in the naming rights.
