Candidates had until Wednesday to put themselves forward, but only Platini had, confirmed UEFA.
A spokesman said: “As of 23 December 2010, only one candidate has been announced: current Uefa president Michel Platini will be seeking a second four-year term of office from 2011 to 2015.”
Platini has been controversial for some of his reforms, such as widening representation for smaller nations in the Champions League, increasing the size of the European Championships, fourth and fifth officials and UEFA fair play rules.
