Kebe has impressed for Reading this season and is the club’s top scorer with four goals so far.
McDermott told Sky Sports: “Jimmy has been excellent for us since I got the job, as have all of the lads to be honest.
“He is a good lad and a special player, but we know that we have got threats on the wing, with Jobi McAnuff on the other side, who is another excellent player.
“We now want the likes of Shane Long, Noel Hunt and Simon Church to start picking up the goals that we know they can get.”
