Gomes has fallen behind Brad Friedel and Carlo Cudicini in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: “I’ve not bombed Gomes out and made him No.3 that’s for sure. He’s trained hard but, in all honesty, he’s looking to move on in January. If the opportunity comes for him to play, I’m sure he will take it.
“But this guy (Friedel) is fantastic. He made a fantastic save from Karl Henry.”
