The Bulgarian international has been linked with a summer move to White Hart Lane.
“I think Martin Petrov is a good player but he has been out injured for months,” Redknapp told Four-Four-Two magazine.
“He is a terrific left winger and a good crosser of the ball but I have never thought about signing him for Tottenham.
“I am watching games all the time and thinking about next year to build a team here that will never have these problems again. I’m sure the fans don’t want to be stuck in a relegation battle all year.”
