The 27-year-old has impressed off the becnh so far this season, scoring int he 4-1 weekend win at Everton.
“I’m working hard for the team and to try and get more time on the pitch,” he told the club’s official website.
“Every time I play I try my best to show what I can do.
“(Wednesday) is a good chance for me to show I’m worthy of a starting place against Newcastle on Sunday.
“The whole team was happy with the result on Saturday and we’re looking forward to the next game.
“I always try and do my best for the team and I was really pleased with my performance.
“The third goal made it safe for us and made us more confident. To play against 10 men is never easy.
“I’ve not scored loads of goals but I’ve scored some good ones. I hope there is more to come. For me a goal is a goal. It gives me confidence to be scoring.”
