Mancienne, who is on-loan at Wolves from Chelsea until the end of the season, has become a key player in McCarthy’s team.
Wolves boss McCarthy said: “He’s a quality player who Chelsea signed on a good, long contract and I was lucky that I could get him out on loan. He’s had a great education.
“I don’t feel he’s a Chelsea centre midfield player yet. He’s turning into a good Premier League midfield player but is he going to win the Champions League playing at that place? That’s what Chelsea want.
“But if he continues playing like he has for us, maybe he can stay with us next season.”
