Rubin Kazan boss satisfied with win over FC Copenhagen

Berdyev felt his side deserved the win, despite not being at their best.

He told Uefa.com: “I’m generally satisfied with our display and commitment; we won deservedly. We played to hold onto what we had at the end. København could have taken their chances but now I am happy with the result.

“I agree that some times it seemed we were playing against ourselves because København are a very organised team. We had to put in a lot of effort to close them down.

“They tortured us with crosses from the right in the second half and after [Vitali] Kaleshin got injured we had some problems on the left wing, too. København are a very good side.

“If we compare the two games against København, our commitment was better today but in the first match we were better organised and played better football.

“We were also very solid defensively while tonight we switched play well from defence to attack but just lacked something in front of goal.”
