Zarate is currently on loan from Al Sadd and Sportmediaset reports that Lazio are trying to land the player permanently.
It is believed Zarate could cost around 21million euros.
“Mauro intends to remain at Lazio,” Zarate’s agent, and brother, Sergio told Sportmediaset.
“A contract agreement with Lazio is near and we just have to wait for the club now.”
