Aguirre was delighted following their 2-1 win over Marseille on Wednesday.
“Liverpool are the favourites for the group and then us,” said Aguirre. “There are four games left, two at home and two away, so we can’t get complacent.
“We have another big game at the weekend (against Barcelona) where we will again go for the win.”
Atletico Madrid will face Liverpool in their next Champions League clash.
