Sylvinho looking to keep Man City place

Sylvinho started his first Premier League game for City against Bolton on Saturday as Wayne Bridge will be out of action for a few weeks with a knee injury.

“I was upset when Wayne was hurt because he is part of the future at City,” said Sylvinho in the Daily Express.

“But I enjoyed the game at Bolton. Matches like that usually take shape in the opening 20 minutes and it was hard for me.

“We didn’t play well early on or defend as a team, but in the second half, and even with 10 men, we got the ball down and tried to play good football.

“I had a good connection with Craig Bellamy and Robinho, and I am ready to play at Tottenham if selected.”

Sylvinho also called on City to learn from his former club Barcelona.

He added: “We can learn from Barcelona. They play the same way every game. They play the same against Chelsea as they do against a third or fourth division side in Spain.

“We are changing the mentality of a whole club, not just 25 players.”
