Cole was left out of Fabio Capello’s England squad for the friendly with Egypt, but the midfielder is focused on helping Chelsea win the Premier League.
“It is in our hands, our destiny is in our hands,” Cole told Sky Sports News.
“We know if we win every game we are champions.
“I just want to work hard for my team-mates and whatever happens happens. It’s obviously something I’d like to play in but at the moment I’m just concentrating on helping Chelsea win the title.
“I just want to keep playing well. I give everything in every game I play and that’s just my nature. I want to work hard for my team-mates and manager and what will be will be.”
“You can’t talk yourself into England squads,” he added.
“I just want to keep playing well for Chelsea – it would be something I love, any English player would love to be there.
“But my focus is just Chelsea and helping them win as many games as possible.”
