The Hammers were relegated from the Premier League after their loss to Wigan on Sunday.
“Relegation here is such a massive thing. I don’t think people understand it really but it just turns a club upside down,” Reid told 3news.
“If you get a manager that tells you, ‘I don’t think I’ll need your services for next season’, then you’re going to have to find something new aren’t you?
“Because I’m only 22 I don’t really want to. I would rather be playing football regularly.”
