The Hammers are looking for a new manager after the sacking of Avram Grant on Sunday.
Dicks is currently in charge of non-League side Grays Athletics and the 42-year-old admits it would be a big jump to the Championship.
“Of course it is, but that’s not saying I can’t do the job,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I’d love to have the chance to do the job.”
