He is quoted as saying, “It would be better for everyone if my transfer to Chelsea is finalised, because I want to leave. The directors know I want to leave and in these conditions I can’t see me playing for Lyon any more”.
Chelsea have already had a £12m bid for him knocked back earlier this week, with the Lyon asking price somewhere nearer £17m, but it seems unlikely the French champs will want to keep him after these recent statements.
