Balotelli was ommitted from the current Italy squad for his red card during Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League.
Giancarlo Abete of the Italian football federation said: “Balotelli still has some problems and lacks continuity. He needs to mature and that has to be a personal choice. We hope he grows and that the focus is placed on his technical ability.”
