He said: “To be asked to lead out a team containing some top internationals was a big boost to myself before I even kicked a ball. I feel that is part of the reason my game has come on this season.
“I am more self confident and assertive. There is a manager putting in you belief that you can lead out a team of quality players. I’ve grown into the job.”
